Voluntary Contribution

“Voluntary Contribution” makes it possible for all Smart Galas features to be completely free for our clients to use.

How is the platform completely free?

It’s simple! Our “Voluntary Contribution” makes it possible - You choose “Voluntary Contribution” for the payment method and we will ask your supporters to make a voluntary payment.

What if donors don’t want to make a voluntary contribution?

Voluntary contribution will always be optional. Your supporters can edit or remove the amount from their basket. Platform ensures voluntary contributions are transparent during the payment process.

Do you charge Platform Fee?

With Voluntary Contribution model, funds collected through the platform are not subject to any fees, such as platform fee or a commission. If you don't want to use Voluntary Contribution option, there is one more way to use the Platform without paying any upfront fee. With Platform Fee option you agree to a 4% Platform Fee.

What are the credit card transaction fees?

If using Platform's Stripe Connect Payment system, processing Fees (3.95% for all cards, 4.5% for AMEX) will apply to all credit card transactions. If using Direct Stripe connection the Client benefits from their original Stripe fees. Donors may cover the fees. In Hong Kong, 87% of the donors choose to cover these fees when they are given the option. By doing so, they ensure that 100% of their donations go directly to the cause after covering the fees.

Is credit card payment required with Voluntary Contribution ?

No. The client can give offline payment options to the guests even with Voluntary Contribution mode.
